Who can Psyma help
Therapists at Psyma are able to address many common mental health issues. Some of these conditions include anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, physical health related problems, eating disorders and other complex presentations.
Psyma aims to help those who find it difficult to attend face-to face sessions, need out-of-hours sessions or are unable to take time off from other commitments. The virtual nature of the app allows for easy access to those who live in isolated areas, cannot access transport or have mobility issues. Psyma is, however, not able to offer help to those under the age of 18 or to those who are in pre-existing therapy.
Please note this service is not designed to help those experiencing a crisis. If you need help urgently please contact your GP or GP out of hour’s service. You can also call the Samaritans on 116 123 or your national crisis number.
How it works
It’s simple, just register, fill in details in your user area, choose a therapist and book a free initial 25 minute consultation. During your first session your therapist will tell you about the service, the process of therapy and answer any questions you may have. Sessions will take place in a secure online therapy room, communicating via video call. When you are ready to proceed you can book and attend sessions with your chosen therapist at a time and place convenient to you. If you need assistance in picking the right therapist for you, contact us and we will help.
The team

Therapists are registered with their professional bodies and have a substantial amount of clinical experience. At Psyma we are dedicated to delivering a high quality clinical service and adhere strictly to NICE guidelines and standards set out by regulatory bodies such as the BPS and HCPC. Our therapists, therefore, go through rigorous screening, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, training in working online and ongoing supervision to enhance their clinical skills. We are supported by a team of specialist advisors and regularly consult with experts in the field to ensure the care we offer is outstanding.
