App Store Description

The Pukeahu National War Memorial Park is the national place for New Zealanders to remember and reflect on this country’s experience of war, military conflict and peacekeeping and how that experience shapes our ideals and sense of national identity.

Here you can learn the story of the National War Memorial, the carillon and it's 74 bells, the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior and Simpson & his Donkey. You can uncover the history of Pukeahu as a site of Maori occupation and the meaning behind Nga Tapuwae o Te Kahui Maunga (the tangata whenua gardens). Or learn why the Australian Memorial is just the first of many memorials to be built in the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. We advise you to quit the app when finished.
