Adding someone to your phone book shouldn't be awkward and cumbersome, but it is. With this app, it's as easy as one-two-three.

Quickly add a contact with quikly. Finally, a quick and easy way to add a phone number for a contact. With just four taps to add a new contact (versus eight for the native app), this is the easiest way to get someone into your phone book.

Add a contact, then call or text them

Add a contact, then call or text them. It might take you 12 taps in Contacts to add someone and then call or text them. Not so with Quikly. It takes just six taps to save them and then call or text your new best friend.

What is it about?

Normally, adding someone to your Contacts requires tapping at least eight times. You have to put in their first name, last name, and then tap to add a phone number. Then, you'll usually want to change the type of number, since it defaults to a Home number. Finally, you type in the number and tap save. By the time you're done, it's taken you at least eight taps to add that person to your phone book.

For those who...

  • Hate adding people to their Contacts
  • Want a quick and easy way to get their new (or old) friends into their phone book

Not for those who...

  • Memorize phone numbers by heart and don't use Contacts
  • Like the complicated menu options in the native Contacts app

Why we love it

Quikly is lightning-fast to use, and so simple you might wonder if it really worked. It's definitely streamlined my efforts to get people into my phone book. What's really nice is that once you've saved the contact, you can text or call them straight from quikly. The dialog pops up, you tap Call or Text, and quikly allows you to make that phone call or send that text message. I've used the app at least half a dozen times by now, and it's never let me down. This is definitely one of the neatest, most useful apps I've found for my iPhone, even if I only use it a handful of times a month. Here's my usual workflow, now that I have quikly on my iPhone. When I meet someone and get their phone number or business card, I use quikly to get their name and telephone number into my Contacts list. Later, when I'm at my computer, I can go back into that contact and add in the additional information from their business card. It dramatically speeds up the meeting, allowing me to spend less time tapping and more time chatting.

QUIKLY IS THE FASTEST WAY TO CREATE NEW CONTACTS

CREATING A NEW CONTACT IS FRUSTRATING
We've all been there - you're talking to a new friend and decide to exchange contact info. As you're searching for your address book app, the conversation continues. Distracted, you open your call app and start looking for a "new" button, but can't find one. At some point your new friend figures you must be ready and starts telling you their phone number. But you are definitely not ready, and ask them to wait just a moment. Perhaps you give up and just call the new number. Or perhaps you've gotten into the new contact page, but now you have to scroll through a bunch of random fields that you never use - photo, company, url. Some people get so frustrated that they hand their phone to their new friend and ask them to add their own info - forcing them to try to figure out a phone that they're unfamiliar with.

SHOULDN'T IT BE SIMPLE?
This is a basic task for anyone with a phone. Why not make it easy? quikly keeps it simple. Just enter one or more of the following and then tap "Save": First, Last, Phone. Your new contact is now saved in the native iOS contact list. If you want to add more details later, you can edit it from the Contacts app.

AND QUICK?
In addition to simplicity, quikly cuts your taps in half. 4 taps to add a new contact instead of 8 with the native contact app. 6 taps to add a contact and call them vs 12 with the native app.

CALL OR TEXT
quikly gives you the option to call or text your new contact after their info has been saved - making it easy to pass your phone number on to them.
