App Store Description

Have you ever taken a taxi ride and thought the driver took a longer route in order to charge you a higher fare? Use RightRoute App to track the route that your driver takes!

Most other mapping apps show your trip’s recommended route, along with a blue dot showing your current location. RightRoute provides this functionality, but also records the entire route taken by your driver (not just the current location).

If it seems like your driver may not be taking the right route, you can ask why they are going that way. You can also show them RightRoute’s record of the route they’ve actually taken as proof that they went the wrong way.

RightRoute can notify you if the driver get too far off-route. This is also a safety feature so that you can be aware if something is going wrong.

To use, simply start RightRoute at the start of your trip. At any time you can optionally set the starting point and destination, in which case RightRoute will show you up to three recommended routes. If you have set your trip end points, then RightRoute can also notify you if the driver strays significantly from any of the recommended courses.

If you choose not to set the starting point and destination, then RightRoute will not be able to show you any recommended routes, and will not be able to notify you if the driver goes off-course. In this case, simply tap “Done” when you arrive at your destination. At that point, RightRoute will then be able to show you the recommended routes which you can compare with the driver’s route.

You can also use RightRoute with Uber. Start by defining your trip's starting point and destination in RightRoute. Tap the "Share" button, then choose "Open in Uber." Doing this will cause RightRoute to start the Uber app with your trip already entered, so all you have to do is select the type of service and confirm the pickup location. By doing this, you get the benefits of RightRoute tracking your driver, and of avoiding needing to enter your starting point and destination twice. (You can also choose "Open in Google Maps", "Open in Maps", "Open in Lyft", and "Open in Waze".)

RightRoute respects your privacy: your trip is not stored anywhere or shared with anyone else — unless you use the "Share" button, of course!

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. RightRoute will automatically stop recording your trip after 2 hours.
