Rise Festival

RISEfestival is a celebration of the globally recognised movement that is urban art. In a short time, this increasingly popular art form has not only caught the imagination of people around the world but has grown its identity with visual diversity at an incredible rate. It is becoming harder to find a town or city in any part of the world that doesn’t feature some form of urban or street art.

RISEfestival is committed to 4 core principles:

1. Showcasing exceptional talent – the widest possible range of visual styles and techniques involved in this art form. RISEfestival has engaged with artists who are pushing boundaries or show exceptional creativity in their field making sure all of its forms are represented and respected.

2. Impact – RISEfestival is committed to considering the effects of our activities on our local community and providing as many opportunities as possible for local residents.

3. Inclusivity – Urban art is inclusive to all and exclusive to none. Making certain that we provide the best opportunities to engage with our programme by creating programmes accessible and FREE to all members of our community.

4. Diversity – While showcasing many known names in this art form it is also essential that we provide areas for artists of all backgrounds and we reflect a high level of diversity of the artists involved.

As you use explore the installations, or get involved in the music events, using geo fences and your location you will be able to rate the art work, event or listen to the artists themselves.

We have added an AR element to the experience. Around croydon we will be placing sculptures that you can position in certain locations. In order to do this the application will ask you for access to your camera.
