Unlike traditional car insurance companies that base prices on crude demographics like your age or marital status, Rooster is different.
We use our app, AI & sensors in your phone to analyse & build a profile of your driving behaviour over a 3-week period (the test drive). Then give you a quote based primarily on how, where & when you actually drive, not who you are.

We have a few restrictions on who we can cover. To be a Rooster annual insurance customer, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old and under 75.
- Held a full driving licence for over a year.
- Have a mainland UK driving licence (currently not N Ireland licenses).
- Own a car which is less than 20 years old and not imported.
- Own a car worth less than £70,000.
- Have no more than 2 fault claims in the last 2 years.
- Have not had a policy cancelled or voided by an insurer.

We also have restrictions on the vehicles we can insure, based on your age and driving experience, alongside of course your test drive results.
- ABI Group 1-17 - No Min Age (Some exceptions for under 20s if cc is over 1496 or vehicle is not a Hatchback)
- ABI Group 18-24 – Min Age 21, for 21-24 and 1yr NCD required. No restrictions for age 25+
- ABI Group 25-29 – Min Age 25, age 25-29 and 1yr NCD, 11mth ownership. Age 30+ needs 11mth licence only.
- ABI Group 30-34 – Min Age 30, licence 23mths
- ABI Group 35-39 – Min Age 30, licence 35mths
- ABI Group 40-45 – Min Age 30, licence 59mths
- ABI Group 46-50 – Min Age 30, licence 59mths, min 1 year NCD
