RtI Guidance App

The RtI Guidance App is designed to support teachers and administrators foundational understanding of Response to Intervention. The content within the app is organized at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels, and further differentiated by subject area, including reading, writing, mathematics, and behavior.

Response to Intervention (RtI) is an approach that schools and districts use to help all students, including struggling learners. The RtI framework gives Texas students opportunities to learn and work at their grade level. The idea is to help all students be successful.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) partnered with nationally renowned content experts and Texas educators to synthesize the latest research to identify consistent, explicit, scientifically-based, and concise information on RtI. A team of experts met in Austin in January 2013, to discuss the needs of teachers and administrators. The consensus of this meeting determined that a user-friendly and technologically current tool, in the hands of educators, could best support implementation of RtI. This tool is the RtI Guidance App.

The content within the app is organized at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels, and further differentiated by subject area, including reading, writing, mathematics, and behavior. Guidance on instruction (by tier), curriculum, assessment, and implementation provide a broad scope that can be narrowed down into specific resources ranging from insight on special populations, to targeted articles, vetted websites, and research.
