What is it about?

SABOT-X provides Gunnery Skills and Conduct of fire training for stabilized vehicle crews anywhere at any time on any device with government owned software to increase Army readiness. Platforms currently available for training are the BFV and ABRAMS. Future Platforms will include the STRYKER, M10 Booker and CROWS. SABOT-X has three training modules. Gunnery Skills module is focused on removing resource barriers, increasing repetition, and decreasing the wear and damage to unit equipment during Gunnery Table (GT) I/Gunnery Skills Test. By utilizing Mixed Reality and Virtual Reality Soldiers can manipulate virtual weapon systems anywhere at any time supplementing current physical training aids. Conduct of Fire module creates more challenging chair drills that enable crews to identify and address problems before Gunnery Tables II & III. By placing Soldiers in a low fidelity virtual turret, they can engage in dynamic and varied engagements while refining crew communication. maximizing the usefulness of Precision Gunnery Trainers. Advanced Gunnery Skills module increases the complexity of crew drills by simulating faults during the Conduct of Fire module. By inducing weapon and fire control faults during chair drills the crew builds the cognitive framework and required crew communication. This increases training rigor and complexity by inducing weapon system and fire control failures.
