Health and safety is pivotal in protecting those being cared for and those working in and around the care industry. This protection guards against a multitude of common hazards (e.g. slips, trips, and falls) as well as hazardous behaviours (aggression, disorientation and self-harm). Individuals involved in any workplace environment act as a first line of defence in detecting hazards, and recommending methods to reduce the level of risk. The training of care workers is paramount to the reduction of client/worker injuries, and increasing productivity / wellbeing of a workplace.
