Santam Risk Assessment

The Risk Assessment App enables Santam registered Brokers to better understand existing and prospective commercial clients’ property risks. And, using the information collected, the Broker is able to proactively advise the client on steps to minimise the risk of loss.

The functionality enables Brokers to easily download their own clients’ policy information and documents, input address details, locate places and addresses with Google Maps (using keywords, GPS or current position), download a property’s location risk data (e.g. proximity to police, hospital and fire services), complete an context-aware questionnaire, add photos, add notes, generate a client risk report (on-device), e-mail the risk report, and upload all data to the Santam Broker Portal.

To access the app, Broker users are required to login with their existing Santam Broker Portal user accounts. Non-Santam brokers are not able to use the app.

Users are able to work in both online and offline modes. All on-device policy and assessment data is encrypted.

The Risk Assessment app supports real-time integration with the Santam Broker Portal, the Santam Policy Administration System and Google Maps. Apart from Internet access needed for the online functions, the app requires access to the device’s camera, location and storage.

Note that continued use of the GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
