What is it about?

Each year, SCAC's Annual Conference provides a dynamic educational experience with opportunities for one-on-one interaction, strategizing, small group discussions and large group learning. More than 600 county officials—representing South Carolina's 46 counties—gather to discuss challenges and opportunities, share best practices and attend training sessions that strengthen their capacity to lead and serve. In conjunction with the Annual Conference, SCAC, in cooperation with the Joseph P. Riley Jr. Center for Livable Communities at the College of Charleston and the Strom Thurmond Institute of Government and Public Affairs at Clemson University, provides the Institute of Government for County Officials (the Institute). The Institute is a training program designed to equip county officials with the tools needed to enhance their skills and abilities to function more effectively in their positions.
