SEDC Mobile Workforce
SEDC's advanced workforce automation solution enables field crews to communicate wirelessly with the office and with dispatchers to improve service response times, reduce drive times, and increase overall efficiency.
With SEDC's Mobile Workforce application, field crews can view work orders in list format or on a map of the utility's service area. By selecting specific work orders, the user can drill down into the order details and workflow. When work is completed, the order can be updated directly from the field, allowing teams in the office to view the updated order in near real time.
With the integrated GPS capability, truck locations will display on the dispatcher's map, enabling better routing decisions, more appropriate crew assignments, and improved response time estimates. Users should be aware that running GPS continually in the background can dramatically decrease the iPad's battery life, and care should be taken to ensure trucks have iPad charging capabilities.
