App Store Description

Identify a shark or chimaera species using physical features listed in the app.

Species are divided into the 8 shark families and a single chimaera family.

Extra help with families is provided by the blue info button (screenshot 2 & 3) on each family division. In addition, basic shark physiology to aid in species identification is provided in the Shark Basics screen (screenshot 7).

Dichotomy Key search narrows down the family using simple unique identifiers (6).

Common and taxonomic names, along with an image, help to narrow down the species (screenshot 4) . When a species is selected, full information is provided including unique id features, as well as features common with other similar species. Additional behaviour and physiology information including size, weight, reproduction, distribution, etc is listed.

Save individual species to your My Sharks collection while simultaneously copying the species common and taxonomic name to your phone's clipboard, to insert into a message, email or any other application.

Camera and camera roll access to allow you to add in your own images.

Links to further information, online databases, reference books and image library included either in the Links screen (8) or on each individual species screen (5).
