Are we doing more harm than good by choosing the wrong skin care due to little knowledge? Find out what is REALLY in your skincare.

The Skin Matters app showcases explanations for over 2000 of the more common skincare ingredients and over 20 that we should be avoiding altogether as they are known to be toxic to the skin and proven not to be safe! Skincare doesn’t have to be a complete minefield as The Skin Matters App will provide clarity, and allows you to double check you are using skincare that is right for you. Perfect for the savvy beauty enthusiast or simply someone who has never been able to get their skincare quite right!

As we all know the number of different skin care brands on the market is completely overwhelming so this is why Joanne Evans decided to create an app that allows you to decipher the complicated lists of ingredients on the back of your skincare pot or bottle. The most important thing with skin care is learning which ingredients work for you and your skin. Then you need to understand them and their pros and cons to ensure you are using what is right for you. If you have a food allergy you will be use to checking the food labels for ingredients you need to avoid, think of this as much the same. Allows you to develop the knowledge of what ingredients work best for you. And often the ‘most expensive is not the best’, says Joanne Evans. Gives you a security blanket that if you are going to invest in a new skincare regime that it is right for you.

Also Joanne Evans points out, ‘we don’t have to be so afraid of chemicals anymore, if we have access to the knowledge to know that a skin care ingredient can be derived from sugar cane so is natural but has a chemical name. Air is a chemical, water is a chemical, and everything we touch and see is chemical derived.’
