Sm@rtTrain is a discrete addition to railway stations/platforms that provides real-time information for people waiting to catch a train.
A small box containing the electronics is mounted discretely at the station/platform and transmits information to a person waiting to catch a train, via the Sm@rtTrain App. The App gives real-time information for the trains due to arrive at the station within the hour. It gives the name of the train operator, the scheduled departure time of the train, along with its departure platform, and whether it is leaving early, on-time, delayed or cancelled. For visually Impaired people it audibly announces the information to them for example “The 13:05 Avanti West Coast train to London Euston will depart from platform 3 on time” This completely enhances the lives of Visually Impaired people and allows them to catch a train as easily as everyone else.
At a fraction of the price of other RTI systems and with no subscription charges to the end user, Sm@rtTrain is the solution to total inclusivity. It has a clear, easy to read visual display providing the information required regarding trains due in the next hour at the train station/platform. Having the information audible for Visually Impaired people can completely enhance their lives for something sighted people merely take for granted.
