Smart City Explorer

Smart City Explorer is an innovative educational application aimed at connecting theoretical knowledge of smart cities with practical experiences and real challenges. The app combines educational modules, quizzes, and gamification, bringing a fun and interactive way for students to explore the concepts of sustainability, modern technologies, and local governance.

Main features:

Educational Modules: Students have access to modules covering topics such as information technology, the Internet of Things, energy efficiency, and city management. These modules are tailored to different age groups, from elementary to high school and university.
Quizzes: Each module includes quizzes that test acquired knowledge. Students receive instant feedback and points that can be exchanged for rewards.
Gamification: The app utilizes game elements, such as points and rewards, to increase student motivation to continue learning. The more modules they complete and challenges they meet, the more rewards they can earn.
Leaderboards and Challenges: Smart City Explorer provides leaderboards where students, schools, and regions can compare their progress. Local governments can create challenges for students to tackle, earning additional points by solving local issues.
Progress Tracking: Students and schools can monitor their educational progress. Teachers have access to analytical tools that allow them to track student progress and adapt content according to their needs.
Support for Local Governments: Local governments can use the app to engage young people in addressing community challenges, promoting active community participation.
Smart City Explorer is more than just an educational application – it is a tool for enhancing understanding of modern technologies, sustainable development, and local governance. It leverages real data and modern methodologies to enable students to apply their knowledge in practice.

The app was developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Brandinstitute, and AdBird, s.r.o. It was created within the Education for Smart Slovakia project (004UCM-4/2023), approved by the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic (KEGA).
