What is it about?

This app has been developed for the students of Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering (MERE) subjects at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. It is intended to showcase a range of mining equipment as 3D models that can be placed onto a real-world surface using augmented reality (AR). This allows the viewer to walk around the models and gain a sense for what they look like from all angles, even when enlarged up to real-world scale. Some of the models are simulated to show how they operate, some allow the user to control elements of the equipment, and some can be driven around the surface in AR. This allows users to observe mining equipment to better understand the mining methods that rely on them. Note: this app requires a password to access the contained content.
