Chess is a board game composed of six pieces: king, queen, chariot, elephant, horse, and soldier. The board consists of 64 squares and is divided into two colors: dark and light. The following are the basic rules and moves of chess:

Basic chess piece movement rules*

Wang (K): You can walk horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, with a limit of one step at a time.

Later (Q): You can walk horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, with no limit on the number of steps, but you cannot cross over. ‌

Car (R): It can walk both horizontally and vertically, with no limit on the number of steps, and cannot walk diagonally.

Elephant (B): It can only walk diagonally, with no limit on the number of grids, and cannot cross over.

Ma (N): For each move, move horizontally or straight one square, and then diagonally move outward one square; Alternatively, you can first walk diagonally one square, and then walk horizontally or vertically one square outward (i.e. walk in the shape of "day"). You can cross over, there are no restrictions on 'horse legs'.

Soldier (P): Can only walk straight ahead, only one step at a time.
