Speedometer-Trip Meter

What is it about?

An uncomplicated resettable trip meter and speedometer that has readouts in both kilometers and miles and each area (speed and distance) can be independently set. They say that necessity is the mother of invention and that was the case in my development of this handy and simple, no nonsense app. I was taking my old car (a Citroen 2CV) on a rally that required me to follow turn by turn directions based on setting a trip meter to zero at the start of each day. My car only had a non-resettable odometer and no resettable trip meter and to make matters worse it was in miles and I was travelling in a country that used kilometers. I could find existing speedo only apps and a couple of complicated rallye style trip meters, or apps that had confusing coloured displays with miniscule sized characters, but no app that showed both speed and distance travelled in a clear and uncomplicated display. So this is perfect for people who require an app that does what it promises without unneeded bells and whistles, be it in a car, on a bicycle or out walking. It will keep running in the background so that you can use another app concurrently without losing an accurate distance measurement. But keep in mind that while it uses both cellular triangulation and GPS for its measurement algorithms the GPS function is very battery hungry so it’s best to have your phone on charge while using this simple and functional app.
