App Store Description

Sperantia.app is a mobile and web application that offers personalized psychological guidance to the user and the minors in their care. To obtain the guidelines, the user has to answer a series of questions about their emotions, mood, habits... which have been selected by experts in clinical psychology from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, with a long teaching and research career.

When starting to use the application, users have to answer a series of sociodemographic questions, including their age, gender and other relevant work information (for example, if you are a healthcare professional or if you telework). That information allows you to customize both the questions that are asked and the guidelines. The questions that the application asks the user depends on the age range in which he/she is (0-2, 3-5, 6-13, 14-15, 16-17,> 17) and the answers he/she is providing. For example, if the user indicates that he/she works as a healthcare professional, he/she is asked questions related to this field of work, and he/she receives specific guidance for this context. In addition, the application addresses the user using the gender that he/she has indicated, which allows the help to be personalized.

The questions that users have to answer come from questionnaires whose psychometric properties (reliability, validity, etc.) have been demonstrated in well-known and reputed international psychological studies (see https://sperantia.app/referencias). In addition, these questionnaires have been shown to work well in the age group to which they are applied. Therefore, the reliability of the results from the application is guaranteed. The common feature of all the questionnaires on which the Sperantia.app is based is that they all have cut-off points to determine whether the person responding is at risk or not.

The guidelines offered by the application are personalized according to the age range and what the user has answered in the different questions.

In no case does the application replace the figure of the psychologist. When it detects some difficulty, the application recommends and encourages, within the guidelines, to consult a professional. The application intends to make it easier for the person who is not feeling well to realize it, raise awareness about the importance of taking care of one's mental health, and ask for help if needed.

In the case of users who are fathers and mothers, in addition to completing the application questions for themselves, they can also do so about minors in their care, as long as they are under 16 years of age. The application does not allow a user to register a child of 16 years of age or older.

For minors in charge, parents can answer questions about how their child behaves, how is their relationship with their child... and, depending on their answers and age range, parents can receive personalized guidance to help them and their children.
In the "Mi Perfil" section, the user receives a summary of their results but does not receive any diagnosis or label. The purpose of Sperantia is not to make any diagnosis.
On the other hand, mental health professionals (specialists in clinical psychology, general health psychologists and psychiatrists) can register on Sperantia.app as professionals. They can access the user's complete report as long as the user provides them with a numerical, random and single-use code that the application allows generating when a specific set of surveys have been completed, classified as mandatory to issue a complete psychological report.

The full report is also not a diagnosis, but it does contain data that can help the mental health professional guide or complete the assessment, initiate an intervention, or better assist that person.
