St. Thomas’ is the oldest free school in Stockport. The original Victorian 2 storey school, built in 1837, was replaced by the present, modern purpose built building in 1967. The building consists of 8 classrooms, an SEN room, a quiet room for one-to-one, and an octagonal hall which is used for assemblies/ PE/ dining room. There is also the ‘Kenrick Library’ which was opened by Reverend Kenneth Kenrick on Wednesday 24th October 2012 to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of St. Thomas’ C of E Primary School. Externally to the front of the building there are pleasant lawned areas; to the rear of the school building there is a large hardcore surface for games activities, and a synthetic all-weather pitch; in addition there is a newly extended dedicated area for Foundation Stage outdoor play. We also have a secure quad which has recently been developed to provide an enhanced outdoor learning area for EYFS and KS1 children.
