Users with official South African IDs can sign up and apply for registration for a specific auction. Participation in any live game auction complies with South African, local and international laws regarding the legal and ethical buying and selling of live game on auction. Permits are required from the South African Department of Nature Conservation (local branch) before animals can be transported. Other regulations, terms and conditions apply. The auctioneer can on their own decide to allow or reject any bid or registration application to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws, which can vary depending on species, region and geographical area.
The app acts as a platform to indicate buying intent and sets a price per lot, but the actual real buying and selling transaction takes place outside the app in the physical world. All transactions need to comply with all regulations and laws as published on the app and elsewhere (printed catalogues, websites and the like) as specific terms and conditions per individual auction. These terms and conditions are accepted on the app and this acceptance, along with bids and other information is stored in the Summit Wildlife database.
Additional documentation is required to conclude any transaction regarding the buying and selling of live game in the physical world outside the app.
In addition to app bidding, registered buyers can also bid on the same live auction via voice telephone, text message or live in person on the bidding floor by showing a physical official registered bidder card.
Happy bidding!
