Super Donuts! is a sweet new take on the platformer genre. You'll have to roll around and rely on the laws of physics and gravity to get around, since there's no jump button.

Get around without jumping. In Super Donuts!, you must get around as a rolling donut without a jump button. Use the laws of physics and gravity to maneuver around hazardous level layouts and rescue the small baby donuts.

Tons of secrets. Super Donuts! has a lot of secrets that are waiting for you to uncover. They can hold secret candies to collect so you rack up the points, or even gold candies that are not typically reachable. It's up to you to find them all.

Challenging bosses. There are boss battles in Super Donuts! before you move on to the next area of Sweetzerland. Outwit your foes and advance on to save the baby donuts.

What is it about?

Visually, Super Donuts! has a retro 16-bit pixel art style that definitely harkens back to the golden age of gaming. It has a cheesy look and feel to it all, which makes me love it even more. The game is rendered in 2D fashion, and the colors are bright and vibrant, just like the good old days. Animations are smooth and fluid, so I had no issues of lag or choppiness on my iPhone 8 Plus. There's also an upbeat and quirky soundtrack that I found delightful to listen to. The sound effects are pretty fun to hear too. I'm a bit surprised that the game doesn't have chiptunes, considering that it's inspired by the classics, but the sound is still done well for what it is.
