Symmetrical Breathing, or Sym Breathing, is the most simple and effective form of breathwork anyone can perform

Sym Breathing

by Daniel Lubbers

What is it about?

Symmetrical Breathing, or Sym Breathing, is the most simple and effective form of breathwork anyone can perform. Following that methodology, the "Sym Breathing" app focuses on a very easy to use interface. Open the app, tap the breathing sphere and you're instantly guided to follow the five and half second breathing pattern. There are 3 sensory cues that can be toggled on/off. 1. Auditory tones indicating each inhale or exhale. 2. Visual text overlaid on top of the sphere stating, "inhale" or "exhale". 3. A subtle vibratory haptic feedback can be felt at the top and bottom of each inhale or exhale. Additionally there is a night mode toggle that switches to a red theme to decrease the amount of blue light emitted from your display which can affect melatonin production before sleep. This style of breathwork can be used during meditation or to get into a meditative state. The app has been designed so you can listen to any background audio you would like to while blending our app audio inhale/exhales guided tones seamlessly using the volume slider. Listen to anything in your Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube or Podcast list, this way you are not limited to your choice of background audio and what suits your individual needs. I hope you will enjoy how easy the app is to use, which should immediately help to soothe your nervous system even before your breathing syncs up with the coherent rhythm.
