Fundado en 1986 por el Chef Riaz Ahmad Siddiqui, originario de Pakistán cuya familia tiene origen en la Provincia Norte (U.P) de la India. Es el primer restaurante en introducir esta comida indo-pakistaní, en la ciudad de México.

El nombre Tandoor fue elegido ya que tiene como significado “horno de barro” y es en este donde se elaboran deliciosos platillos, como son el Chicken Tandoori, Seekh Kabbab, el pan Nan, etc.
