Taringa Rovers Soccer Football Club

"Taringa Rovers Soccer Football Club is one of the oldest soccer clubs in Brisbane, being founded in 1949. It is a highly respected member of the Queensland Soccer Federation and has a history of solid growth and strong administration.

Taringa Rovers was officially formed in 1949 with the objective of providing healthy recreation for the young people of the district. The brainchild of Jack Speare and Ernie Dixon, the club began with one Junior (or Juvenile as it was known then) team calling themselves Taringa Rovers because they had no fixed ground on which to play.

From this inauspicious beginning the club has grown as a result of years of fund raising and hard work by volunteers. In 2013 the club fielded some 44 Junior Teams, 11 Senior Mens Teams, 3 Women's Teams and 2 senior mens Cricket teams to add to the 15 thousand players who have taken the field for Taringa Rovers over the years.

The facilities include a licensed Clubhouse valued at over one million dollars with function room, bar area, and meeting rooms; two senior fields, one junior field, a canteen, four dressing rooms, cricket practice nets and a grass cricket pitch situated between the two senior fields.

During this time the club has come up with some fantastic ideas and innovative plans to ensure the strength of the club continues long in to the future.

One of the main areas the club was looking to improve on was the way in which it was currently communicating with its players, members, supporters and sponsors.

With a forward thinking and a dynamic board the club was actively pursuing different methods which would enable them to improve on their existing communication channels.

After conducting a review of all the options available to them the club is pleased to announce the release of their first ever native mobile phone app for the iPhone.

The app will be branded in the famous whitee and blue of the Taringa Rovers Soccer Football Club and the content available to users in the app will contain information about the club.
