App Store Description

The Big Book of Words is a perfect app for babies, toddlers and beyond. Released by Graphiclife, who also made the very popular “The Big Picture Book”.

This app teaches the youngest app-users new words by viewing more than 60 strikingly beautiful illustrations made by artist Jenny Ekdahl. The images of various objects are divided into six categories – Animals, Baby animals, At the zoo, Colors, Vehicles and Fruits & Vegetables. Narration is included in English as well as seven other languages: Swedish, Spanish, Danish, German, Norwegian, French and Polish.

This app is a perfect choice as your child’s first app. The pictures each look beautiful and are artistically drawn in a way that even the smallest of children will enjoy.

Having many languages to choose from is especially helpful for bilingual families or if one is interested in teaching a child words in a foreign language.

Also included in The Big Book of Words are two mini games – "Memory" and "Find it". "Memory" is a classic-style memory game where one turns cards over, looking for images to match in order to make pairs. In "Find It" the player taps one of four images which correspond to a word which is also narrated, testing the player’s knowledge of what they have learned. These games will appeal to toddlers and preschoolers, making this app an activity that babies as well as older children can share together, an excellent choice for a family app.
