This October NECCR is launching a virtual challenge to get people climbing and see how high you can go throughout the month.
1. Choose Your Challenge
We have 6 main challenges to choose from – ranging from Tosson Hill at Simonside (440 metres) right up to Mount Everest (8848 metres). You have the whole month of October to complete your challenge – if you achieve it in plenty of time and want to do more, you can! Registration is free, but we’d love you to either make a personal donation or fundraise whatever you can as part of the event.
2. Get Climbing
Whether it’s up and down your own stairs, or walking up and down real hills there’s something for everyone. For this challenge, we’re really excited to have worked in partnership with Digital Agency, Qrious who have helped us develop an app so that you can monitor your progress and get encouragement along the way. The app will be ready to download at the end of September (we’ll send you a link), but you can also log your climbs manually if you’d prefer to.
3. Reach Milestones
To help keep you motivated, you’ll receive encouragement and reach milestones along the way when you use the app. These are digital badges that you can collect and they include some of the world’s highest man-made structures like the Burj Kalifa and other iconic structures like the Angel of the North.
4. Share Your Achievements
As you progress through your challenges – and reach new heights – we’ll be encouraging you to share your achievements. We’ll show you the view from the top for each milestone which you’ll be able to download and share with your friends and family online.
Share your challenges and adventures with us through your preferred social media platform. Remember to tag us and hashtag your post!
