To subscribe call 1-843-6671818 Number one African-American weekly serving eastern South Carolina for 30 years. During our 30-year history, The Community Times has evolved from a monthly newspaper entity into a diversified media and marketing company with a vision firmly focused on the future.
The entrepreneurial spirit of The Community Times had led to the present operation of two weekly newspapers: The Times Upstate©, covering communities in the Piedmont/Upstate regions of South Carolina; The Community Times Newspaper©, which serves 11 counties in Eastern South Carolina. In addition, the company publishes the only directory of Black businesses in the region, BlackBook. We are also sponsors and producers of one of South Carolina’s largest events, The South Carolina Black Family Expo. Our presence on the internet includes ownership of SCDiversity.net, and South Carolina’s only African American Internet radio station SCVillageVoices.com.
In every market served, DBS Communications (DBSC) is a leading provider of news, information, and special events targeting primarily the African American community. As a result of this effective outreach, the company also serves as a link between the African American community and the broader community.
