The CSI App

The CSI was born on Saturday September 27, 1947, a month after India achieved its independence. The ministry of the Church of South India is structured with three holy orders of Bishops, Priests and Deacons. The church is further divided into twenty-four dioceses each under the supervision of a bishop and runs 2,300 schools, 150 colleges and 104 hospitals in South India.

With a membership of nearly four million and 15 thousand congregations, CSI is one of four united Protestant churches in the Anglican Communion. The inspiration for the Church of South India came from ecumenism and the words of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Gospel of John 17:21 with the motto: ‘That they all may be one’.

The CSI App is designed exclusively for the use of the congregations of the Church of South India to emphasise on the ‘oneness’ of the CSI. The main aim of this app is to bring together all churches under every diocese into one digital platform. With just a touch, you will be taken into the service or group of your choice. Your church is free to use any of the popular live streaming or video conferencing platforms that are available in the market today, which you can access right from the CSI App. Besides being connected to each service live, there are recorded devotionals and sermons in video, audio and text formats – depending on your preference, that you can benefit from throughout the week. The upcoming blog feature will further deepen community learning and your spiritual growth. The CSI App provides you with a 'digital noticeboard' too, where you can get all the information that you would normally look for in your own church's notice board. With push notifications enabled, you don't miss any event from member's birthdays to each service or activity. The events and news sections give you a quick glimpse of what's coming in the current week and the highlights of what happened in the previous one. This helps you in planning to attend any event and also gives you an opportunity to be informed about what your church had been doing in the past week. The image carousel (Featured Images Section) in your home screen brings you to the key events through photos – a great way to take a digital peep into your church.
