The Seiko Museum was established in 1981 as part of a 100th anniversary project, with the goal of gathering, preserving, and studying various materials and samples related to “time and timepieces.”
With the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the birth of our founder Kintaro Hattori in August 2020, the museum was relocated to the Ginza district, the birthplace of Seiko, and reopened as The Seiko Museum Ginza.
The museum aims to be a place of broad appeal that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike, exhibiting not only valuable archive materials on the history of Kintaro Hattori and Seiko’s products, but also a wide scope of the history of timepieces in general, from sundials to wadokei (traditional Japanese clocks).
We eagerly look forward to your visit.
