Over the past century, this bow-tie shaped intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue has gone from being an unassuming, quiet neighborhood on the west side of Manhattan to being the universally recognizable Crossroads of the World. With all of the world famous landmarks in New York City, Times Square may very well be the most famous, due in large part to its myriad appearances in movies and television. Of course, being an area jam-packed with a changing array of intensely bright, flashing advertising day and night makes it a memorable location for movies as well as for visits to New York City.
