App Store Description

"To See A World in A Grain of Sand – The VR Edition" is an artistic extension from  Wong Chi-yung's experiential installation the "To See A World in a Grain of Sand”. This project is inspired by mindfulness and its related scientific research; a result conveying Chi-yung artistic research on mindfulness into an artistic creation.

This installation combines multimedia art in a virtual realm, creating an audio-visual experience that immerses the audience  into a contemplative space in 3 acts.

"To See A World in a Grain of Sand” was commissioned by the Theatre of Liege in Belgium in 2018 and was selected as one of the funding projects of the European Commission.

Wong Chi yung brings back  the topic of "art and contemplation" to Hong Kong this time, and invites the local multimedia artist Thomas Ip Kwok Tung to collaborate and to transform the physical experiential installation and the concept of mindfulness into a virtual experience.

This cross-disciplinary collaboration, on the one hand, explores the possibility of adaptation between the physical and virtual, on the other hand, it also stimulates the communication between installation art and digital installation art.  This will not only broaden the horizons of art appreciation, but also allow more audiences to understand mental health and mindfulness.
