Tocal is a colonial homestead, working farm and agricultural training centre in the Hunter Valley.

The Tocal story spans thousands of years and gives us an insight into the many people who have called this place home.

From artifacts of the Wonnarua people to one of Australia’s finest collections of farm buildings from the early 1800s, to a renowned Hereford and Thoroughbred stud, to a modern working farm for agricultural training, you will trace the history through the stories of the people who have shaped Tocal.

It’s a story of hard times, drought, fire, flood and storms; and of the passing of generations and the need to move on. But it is also a story about the changing face of rural Australia and the resilience and innovation of Australian farmers.
