App Store Description

Track My Velo allows parents, spouses, friends and followers to track your rides in real time by viewing your route and current location on a map in a web browser. You send these people the web link at the start of your ride using an SMS.

The app scales from individual riders who simply want their family to know where they are when out on a ride, up to large, regular riding groups.

Suitable for schools, cycling groups and clubs, it recognises that although rides are often composed from the same group of people, it’s not always clear until the last minute who is coming on the ride. Track My Velo makes it easy to quickly select the riders that are in your group, and send the beacon link to only the followers of those riders. This can be done in the last seconds before the ride starts.

A free web-based maintenance portal is provided for easy maintenance of teams, riders, and parent/guardian contact numbers. No limits are imposed on the number of teams or riders defined.

The app can be used immediately without visiting the portal; until you do so you manually select safety contacts when you start each ride.

The app also helps separate groups of riders to find one another on the road, even if they set off from different places and at different times. Your followers can also find your current ride if you tell them your special "all rides" URL - whether or not they were in a position to receive the SMS message containing the link to the latest one.

Once recorded, the ride routes can be replayed and also downloaded in GPX format, suitable for upload to a wide variety of health/fitness applications.
