Trakaro is an online sustainability rating platform for hotels, restaurants, and tour operators.

We are showcasing businesses that conserve the environment and empower the local community so that travelers like you can support businesses that are promoting sustainable tourism.

Trakaro is powered by our algorithm called The Fylla Rating. This rates establishments from 0 to 10 on how sustainable they are with 7 as our benchmark for sustainability. We based the rating on the Triple bottom line of sustainability -Planet, People, And Profit.

We currently have three metrics for sustainability - the Food Source Network, Manpower Proximity, and the customer Experience.

Our first metric is The Food Source Network. Through this feature, you can now check where your favorite restaurants source their 9 main ingredients. Establishments are given a higher rating if they source locally, directly to producers, and if their ingredients are organic.

We are also looking at where establishments hire their employee through the manpower proximity. Establishments who hire within their community are given a higher rating compared to establishments that hire outside.

Last is the customer experience. We want to give a message that sustainable tourism is also enjoyable. We want to share to everyone that you can enjoy your travels while supporting sustainable tourism. Establishments are given a higher rating if they also provide a great experience for their customers.

We also have the awards and advocacies. This feature increases their credibility for sustainable tourism, it serves as their Press release for the efforts, exercises and programs. Check out how establishments contribute and go the extra mile for promoting sustainable tourism.
