What is TrashInCashIn?

Trash in Cash in is an incentivized recycling campaign administered by Delta Facilities Management (DFM), focused on encouraging the public to recycle. Incentives range from individual financial rewards to contributions made to charities on behalf of participants and can be customized to suit any organization’s requirements.

How does it work?

Registered participants drop recycling off at designated collection areas. DFM staff then weigh the recyclables and the amount owed to the participant or charity is calculated. Rewards are then paid out at the end of each month. Recycling submissions and rewards can be tracked using the TrashInCashIn App.

Why should my school/company get involved?

With South Africans generating 108 million tonnes of waste annually, the country is quickly running out of landfill space. Furthermore, disposal of waste in landfills degrades the environment and could lead to air and water pollution if landfills are not built and managed correctly, which is often times the case in South Africa. Getting involved in the TrashInCashIn campaign not only offers you the opportunity to make a difference to the environment by diverting waste from landfill, but also allows you to respond to your social responsibility should you decide to earmark funds raised by the campaign for charity.

How can my school/company get involved?

Should you be interested in getting involved or for more information, please contact Lise Potgieter at lisep@deltafacilities.com.
