Every day around 8 million pieces of plastic make their way into our oceans. The world produces 381 million tonnes in plastic waste yearly – this is set to double by 2034. Fifty percent of this is single-use plastic & only nine percent has ever been recycled.



trovr was borne out of the realisation that to make real change consumers need to be incentivised to recycle. trovr’s “rewards for recycling” App model is a significant contributor to creating greater motivation to consumers to recycle single use glass and plastic bottles and aluminium drinks cans.



Subscribers earn reward points through the app from recycling glass, plastic, and aluminium drinks containers at one of a national and international network of recycling machines hosted in locations such as shopping malls, supermarkets, motorway service areas/filling stations, transportation hubs (air, bus, and rail), and community spaces.



These reward points can be exchanged for vouchers offered through the app and redeemed online or on the high street for offers such as discounts, money off etc.

As countries adopt deposit return schemes (DRS) globally (UK in 2023/2024), our "Rewards For Recycling" model will contribute to a natural evolution in consumer behaviour and a step change in the amount of recycled packaging material.

The trovr app works in conjunction with the trovr consumer app. Using trovr's dedicated merchant functionality, retailers can create their own reward campaigns and vouchers. These vouchers can then be offered to the whole trovr community or targeted user groups. The merchant app further benefits retailers by providing them with the capability to redeem their own vouchers in store enabling SME and independent retailers to take an inclusive role in recycling rewards and national deposit return schemes.
