-----

Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) represents Inuit who are enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

The Nunavut Agreement was ratified by Nunavut Inuit and Canadian Parliament in 1993 and is the largest comprehensive land claim settlement ever reached between a state and Indigenous Peoples. Article 4 of the Nunavut Agreement created the Nunavut Territory and the Government of Nunavut. The Nunavut Agreement provides many rights for Inuit throughout its 42 articles, including the right to harvest and manage wildlife, the right to representative levels of government employment, the right to participate in decision-making concerning water and land management, and the right to be consulted concerning the development of social and cultural programs and policies in Nunavut.

NTI oversees the implementation of the Nunavut Agreement, and ensures that other parties to the Nunavut Agreement meet their obligations. Because these rights are fundamental to the social, cultural and economic development of Nunavut, NTI created this mobile application to assist Inuit with understanding their rights in the Nunavut Agreement.
