What Do We Offer Differently?
The risk metrics of Value At Risk have been around since the 1990s. Since then, it has been widely used by financial institutions to measure asset portfolio risk. In our app, we are introducing Value At Risk to the average investor to quantify portfolio asset risk in their brokerage accounts.

Buy Analysis
When contemplating adding an asset to your brokerage firm portfolio, Tyche will give you the expected risk of the new asset prior to buying it. Based on the expected risk you may be able to resize the intended investment.

Distribution Between Assets
Tyche provides an individual risk measure for each asset in the brokerage account portfolio. This method provides you with a detailed view of how your portfolio risk is distributed among your assets and perhaps takes action based on risk distribution.

Investment Comparison
Tyche helps you to decide on a choice between desirable assets to be included in your portfolio. Assuming you equally like both assets, the change in the risk profile provided by us under both assets may help you to make the final decision.

Quantification versus Graph
As far as we know brokerage accounts do not provide risk for individual assets. They at best provide risk distribution in terms of broad asset classes, such as small-cap, large-cap, etc., and that only for the overall portfolio. They usually accomplish this in a graphical format. We provide individual asset risk in a detailed tabular numeric format.

Risk versus myRisk
Tyche provides two types of risk for each asset. The first one we call Risk represents the asset risk as if it is the only asset in your portfolio. The second we call myRisk, which represents the risk the asset adds to your overall portfolio. myRisk is always lower than Risk because any loss in that asset could possibly be compensated by gains in other assets in your portfolio.
