Unreal Plots

All you have to do is scan an image from the Unreal Paper Newspaper, you can download it through a link if you don't have the newspaper in hand.
An actor, from news archive, will appear and a voice will speak, telling you a short fiction created from highly mediated news in the past 12 months.
The random combination of text and images creates an unique piece of fiction.

It is a project initiated by Clara Ormières at Design Academy Eindhoven to question new forms of entertainment in the digital realm. Can news become entertaining fiction? How does news escalate to fictive?
The generative app delivers content that does or doesn't make sense, but that always offer an alternate version of the story.
This app is part of a designed interaction exhibited during Dutch Design Week in October 2018.

This app is an entertainment art piece, if the stories generated correspond to real past events, it is purely coincidental and does not represent, in any case, the opinion of the creators of the app.
