To commemorate the centenary of Prince Albert I of Monaco’s death, Venturi President Gildo Pastor has entrusted Xavier Chevrin with a mission: to follow in the footsteps of H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s great-great-grandfather. So, in June 2022, Xavier will ski 220 kilometres across Spitsbergen, a Norwegian island in the Svalbard archipelago which Prince Albert I explored.

The island of Spitzberg has never been explored from inland. This mission is the latest in Venturi’s epic series of attempts to achieve world firsts. On behalf of Venturi, Xavier Chevrin will aim to complete a single trek between the four points mapped from the sea by Prince Albert I.
