Veterinary Consultant
What is it about?
Consultant, developed and maintained at Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine, has been used by millions; by modem and discs from 1985-1997 and on the web from 1997. This app brings Consultant to the smartphone. Consultant contains information on the diseases of dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and birds that is updated almost daily from a review of the published veterinary literature. For each disease there is a short description, a list of clinical signs, and current references with links; Consultant users can search for a disease by name and be provided with that information. Alternatively they can enter clinical signs and be given a list of diseases for which those signs have been reported; a touch on any of the listed diseases takes them to the entry for that disease. A feature called New and Noteworthy presents links to recent veterinary articles that might be of particular interest.
