VGO is an App that can make a difference.

The voluntary sector is perhaps the most important yet undervalued part of our society. Hero's up and down the country devote hours of their time to improve the lives, communities and prospects of those who need a helping hand. Having worked in and seen the amazing work these organisations do I felt that the one thing they lacked was a good recruitment tool to entice others who have the skills, time and ardor to do the same.

MEETVGO.

The easiest way to describe VGO is a Tinder for volunteering. Once you have downloaded the app you will be given 2 options, to register as a Volunteer or to register as an Organisation.

VOLUNTEER

As a volunteer you are able to create a basic profile using either your Facebook profiles. You are then prompted to enter a small bio, what specific skills you have and what area of volunteering you would like to get into. Finally you are asked to state your availability. Once this is complete you will be able to see potential Organisations that match your criteria. Swipe left if they don't appeal to you, press the info button to learn more or swipe right to connect to them. Once you have connected you can start a chat with the organisation leader to see if you fit. If you decide to connect to that organisation you will be able to see who else has connected and be apart of the group chat.

ORGANISATION

Logging in as an organisation is equally as simple. The organisation leader simply creates an account using Facebook. Inputs into the about and bio section and selects what skills they need and what time they need them. Then they can swipe through prospective volunteers. If you like one then simply initiate a chat and connect.
