Vikram and Betal stories app is collection of ancient Indian stories Betal Pacchisi, written 2,500 years ago.
These stories are very famous and have been part of Indian fairy tales for many centuries.
Legend has it that King Vikram (Vikramaditya), the emperor of Ujjain promises a Tantric Yogi to bring Betal, the vampire as a favour promised to him.
Betal puts a condition that the king should bring the vampire in complete silence, otherwise Betal will fly back to its tree.
As soon as Vikram attempts to get Betal, Betal starts to narrate a story that ends with a riddle.
If Vikram cannot answer the question correctly, the vampire consents to remain on his shoulder.
If the king knows the answer but still keeps quiet, then his head shall burst into thousand pieces.
And if King Vikrama answers the question correctly, Beetal would escape and return to his tree.
And at the end of every story Beetal compels king Vikram to solve the puzzle of the story, thus breaking his silence.
The stories thus narrated by Betal form an interesting series of fairy tales.
