Villele Museum

The VILLELE MUSEUM 974 Application: a tool to enhance your visit of the Villèle Museum, with information all about its history and heritage.

The Villèle Museum is set in the heart of a former colonial estate. Thanks to this digital guided tour, you will be able to learn so much more about the site’s history, the plantation society and slavery on Reunion Island. A 2D map will help you situate yourself throughout the museum in order to access the 360° visits, videos, historical documents and audio commentaries which appear periodically during the tour.
Panoramic views will enable you to admire other sites of historical interest which are connected to the museum: La Glacière up at Le Maïdo (Saint-Paul), La Chapelle la Misère close to the museum, the Calbanons (farmhouses for indentured workers) at La Cafrine (Saint-Pierre), and the Lazaret at La Grande Chaloupe.
