VITAL stands for Virtual Instruction for Technology and Digital Literacy. We believe being literate on a smartphone increases connectivity and personal independence for older adults by giving them critical tools to help them communicate and interact with their community and family right from their own home. Connectivity and connection improves mental health, reduces depression and isolation, and helps to maintain mental acuity. Further being literate on a smartphone can increase access to mental health support apps, as well as allow virtual visits with a therapist or doctor online.
