App Store Description

VOCALYX is a powerful, but easy to use, Augmentative and Alternative
Communication (AAC) tool that utilizes pictograms, photos, and text to allow its users,
suffering from various speech difficulties, to easily communicate with those around them and
to make daily progress on their path of speech rehabilitation.

VOCALYX can be used for both children and adults who suffer from the loss of
communication or language. It is completely malleable, and it addresses all levels of
memory, knowledge, comprehension, reading, and writing. From a child stricken with
low-functioning autism, to a senior citizen who has had a stroke and now suffers from
aphasia, to someone who has had a tracheotomy or laryngectomy, to someone suffering
from MS, Cerebral Palsy, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, brain trauma or legions, or to a person with
deafness or muteness who wants a convenient way to communicate with people who don’t
know sign language, VOCALYX can be a life changing tool to those who need it.

In short, VOCALYX can compensate for three types of speech problems: vocalization
(for example in the case of throat cancer), language (as is the case for aphasics), and
communication (in the case of autism). The principle is simple: you click on an image (a
photo, pictogram, or text box) within a premade or personalized keyboard, and VOCALYX
says the message for you through the use of voice synthesis, or with the recorded voice
of either the user or someone close to him/her.

The parameters are 100% customizable to meet the needs of all our individual users. This
includes: the size and number of buttons displayed, the length of button presses (useful
for people who tremble because of Parkinson’s, Lou Gehrig’s, or MS for example), the
synthetic voice (age, gender, speed), and there are several different forms of visual
communication.

There are keyboards made up of pictograms, photos, and prewritten phrases, as well as
ABCD and QWERTY keyboards. When using the pictogram and photo keyboards, you have
the option of either using the images we have already provided and organized, uploading
your own personal images, or searching through photo and pictogram databases, like
ARASAAC, MAKATON, or PECS, and downloading a wide selection of images.

An internet connection is not required to use VOCALYX, except during the registration
and the initial set up. It is usable in all situations and any normal place one would go on a
daily basis. Take advantage of the free trial and discover how much this AAC tool can help
you or someone you love! When the free trial is over, you can buy VOCALYX per number of
clicks, or as a 1-time final purchase.
