App Store Description

The MotorCo VR Guide to the Tour de France is a VR and location based guide to the cycling race starting in France in July of 2019.

The app shows the user their distance from the start and finish of every stage. The app sorts the stages from closest to farthest to the user, so one can triangulate their proximity to the stages and plan accordingly. Now, each stage has its own individual guide, so you can find what is nearby for the entire tour.

Each stage or location comes with a description of the stage, a live Map giving the user directions directly to the stage point of interest as well as a virtual simulation of the area. You can see the hotels and restaurants before you go or reserve.

With the app, one can follow the riders and stages throughout the tour and throughout Brussels and France.

With the app, you have all of the events, descriptions, schedule, locations and virtual content on your mobile device.

The tour starts in Brussels on July 6 and ends in Paris on July 28th, and there are 21 stages in all. Much of the race takes place in the mountains and French country side and its all here for you to explore.

There are two rest days, and two time trials.

The app has no ads, no pop-ups, no registration and no sharing of the user's location.

About the race:

The Tour de France is an annual multiple stage bicycle race primarily held in France, while also occasionally making passes through nearby countries. The race was first organized in 1903 to increase paper sales for the magazine L'Auto; it is currently run by the Amaury Sport Organization. The race has been held annually since its first edition in 1903 except when it was stopped for the two World Wars. As the Tour gained prominence and popularity the race was lengthened and its reach began to extend around the globe. Participation expanded from a primarily French field, as riders from all over the world began to participate in the race each year. The Tour is a UCI World Tour event, which means that the teams that compete in the race are mostly UCI WorldTeams, with the exception of the teams that the organizers invite.
