App Store Description

Have you ever wondered how a camera lens, a radar or a radio telescope work? This app will show you! Explore the wave nature of light in this real-time electromagnetics simulation.

Wave Workshop is a real-time simulation of the propagation of electromagnetic waves. It features experiments with refraction, diffraction, antennas, and radars.

It comes with the most famous experiments, such as single-slit and double-slit diffraction, as well as common refraction mechanisms. It also describes more advanced designs, such as crystal diffraction, Fresnel zones, and photonic crystals. It finally explores how some real devices work: a horn antenna, a corner reflector, a microwave door or a parabolic antenna.

In each experiment, you can adjust a parameter and see its effect in real-time, such as the slit interval in the famous single-slit diffraction experiment. Each experiment comes with a detailed description and illustrative pictures.

The full version features 23 experiments and a sandbox mode that lets you design your own experiments.

This app is great for curious people who want to know more about the wave nature of light!
